Meeting between Pakistan Rangers & BSF began in Amritsar.

The three-day bi-annual meeting between the Pakistan Rangers and the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) began in Amritsar on Sunday. 

The Pakistani delegation is headed by the Pakistan Rangers Punjab director general (DG) and comprises officials from the Pakistan Rangers Punjab and Sindh, the Survey of Pakistan and the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF). 

The meeting will discuss various issues including the BSF killing of innocent inadvertent border crossers. Illegal defence constructions, violation of Pakistan’s airspace by Indian helicopters and remotely piloted vehicles (RPVs), illegal border crossings and smuggling in connivance with the BSF will also be discussed at the meeting. 

The release and repatriation of Pakistani prisoners is also part of the agenda of the bi-annual meeting. The ANF officials will discuss measures to check and control smuggling and to enhance intelligence sharing between the two countries to curb the menace of drug smuggling across the Indo-Pak border.
