SAARC Opening Ceremonies in Thimphu, Bhutan

Leaders of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, and Bhutan met in Bhutan for the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit on April 28-29. This is the first time that Bhutan will host the summit, which is focusing on climate change as well as a number of other issues. Bhutan is also promoting its concept of Gross National Happiness (GNH) which relates a countries development to personal contentment and happiness.
